Often we do not realize what effect food may have on our teeth. The main reason for the occurrence of tooth decay and gum disease is just nothing else but diet! Therefore, find out how consumed foods affect the state of our teeth:
A good diet for your teeth:
– Small amounts of carbohydrates with a high glycemic index (such as sugar, white flour, potatoes)
– A lot of protein (np. dairy, fish)
– Polyunsaturated fatty acids (e.g. fish oil nuts)
– Crunchy vegetables
– Unsweetened drinks
A diet harmful to the teeth:
– Highly acidifying foods mouth – containing a lot of carbohydrates, such as starch or sugar, and low in fat (eg, crackers, sweet fruits, sweets – in particular those sticky to the teeth, like lollipops and candy, chips, white bread)
